CFO Holly Clark Blanchard Wins Washington Business Journal’s Award for Financial Excellence

WASHINGTON, DC- Holly Clark Blanchard, CPA, MBA, Chief Financial Officer of United Way of the National Capital Area (UWNCA), has received the top honor for financial excellence in the non-profit sector from the Washington Business Journal.  She was among six of the region’s top CFOs and financial leaders honored for their corporate stewardship at the Journal’s 2nd Annual Awards for Financial Excellence.

More than 30 nominations were filed and a judge’s panel picked the top six based on overall excellence in the following categories: Financial Services, Real Estate/Hospitality, Government Contracting, Business Services, and Non Profit.

The finalists were the top CFOs and financial leaders in the greater Washington, DC, metropolitan area.

“UWNCA could not be more honored to accept the CFO award for financial excellence,” Blanchard stated after accepting her award.  “The award is the result of teamwork beginning with the Board of Directors who provided the governance structure and dedication for success.  Building an award-winning team with a strong spirit of excellence has been a tremendous experience.  Special and sincere thanks go out to the finance team and staff at the UWNCA who have put their heart and soul into our work.”

These awards, granted at a ceremony held Wednesday, December 3rd at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in D.C., spotlight leaders who maintain the highest standards in their respective fields.  Blanchard also was a finalist for the award last year.

“We are so proud of the accomplishments of Holly and her team,” said Lynnwood Campbell, UWNCA Board Chair.  “It was an honor for our organization to have Holly nominated last year, but actually winning the award will finally put to rest any concerns regarding UWNCA’s financial practices.”
