Getting Involved
Give.
Make an investment in your community by contributing to United Way of the National Capital Area, and by encouraging friends and colleagues to give to UWNCA. With your help, United Way and our partner agencies make a positive difference in the lives of millions of Greater Washington residents.
UWNCA has been serving the Washington, DC region for more than 30 years. Over the past five years, we have streamlined our operations, lowered our administrative fees, and established an open, accountable and outcome-oriented management structure.
We hope that you see United Way as your philanthropic partner, helping you make positive change in your community in a variety of ways. You may choose to have an impact through a direct gift to United Way, a gift to one of our Community Impact Funds or Community Impact Initiatives, or to one of our more than 900 member agencies. Give through personal check, online at www.unitedwaynca.org, or ask your employer to run a United Way campaign so that you may give easily through payroll deduction.
Volunteer.
Join one of United Way’s volunteer boards, and help us determine the most pressing needs in your community. Volunteer for one of our member agencies that is focusing on an issue about which you truly care. Or, join one of our volunteer donor councils – the Tocqueville Society, Women’s Leadership Council, or Young Leaders’ Society – to network with philanthropists who share your vision for the Greater Washington Region.
Advocate.
Work with UWNCA to mobilize our community around the issues about which you care the most. Start a United Way campaign, host a house party, or contact your local government officials to advocate for positive changes for our community.
