Hello All,
My name is David G. Poole, Chair of the Arlington Regional Council and serve on the Board of Directors of the National Capitol Area. Arlington, Virginia is a region just outside of the District of Columbia and an intricate part of the National Capitol Area. It has a low unemployment rate and a large number of low income residents as well as families with very high incomes. County residents need for affordable housing, medical services and food have been on the increase in recent years and with the economy the way it’s going we expect an increase need. There are a limited number of agencies that provide services of shelter, food, medical and employment opportunities.
Our objective is to become aware of the needs of the community and to help support the agencies that provide the services to the underprivileged in our community.
Many residents of Arlington work in DC in the public or private sector. Volunteers are a great asset to the Council and are concerned for the needs of the community. We invite volunteers to join us on the council who are willing to serve on various committees as well as volunteer in the community. If anyone would like to serve on the council please contact me at pa poole@verizon.net.
