Our Work
United Way of the National Capital Area works to create the opportunity for all members of our community to have a better life. We focus on the building blocks of a good life — a quality education, financial stability for individuals and families, and good health.
We bring together the voices, the expertise and the resources to define, articulate and implement a common agenda for change for our region. That is what it means to "Live United" in the National Capital Area.
Every child in the national capital region enters school ready to learn, succeeds in school and leaves well prepared for life and work in the 21st Century.
Education initiatives:
We help ensure all children are ready for kindergarten and are on the path to reading at grade level by grade 4.

Promoting Exercise & Nutrition
